What LPG approval covers
Any commercial kitchen or gas-fired installation in Dubai requires a dedicated gas approval, reviewed by Civil Defence and executed through an authorised gas supplier. It is a distinct process from the main DCD fit-out NOC and is frequently the last item to complete on a restaurant project — which is precisely why it should be started first.

Typical timeline
Design approval takes 7 to 14 working days. Supplier coordination, installation, testing and commissioning add further time, and the sequence is unavoidably serial — each stage depends on the one before it.
Start with the equipment schedule
The gas load calculation depends entirely on the kitchen equipment schedule. Restaurants that finalise their equipment late, or change it after the gas design is approved, trigger a full redesign and resubmission. Locking the schedule early is the single most useful thing an operator can do to protect the opening date.
