What this covers
Every commercial kitchen and gas-fired installation in Dubai needs a dedicated gas approval, reviewed by Civil Defence and executed through an authorised gas supplier. This is a separate process from the main DCD fit-out NOC.
What the process involves
- Gas load calculation based on your equipment schedule
- Pipework routing design and material specification
- Ventilation and gas detection system design
- Emergency shut-off valve positioning
- Coordination with an authorised gas supplier
- Civil Defence gas NOC submission
- Pressure testing, inspection and commissioning
Start this first, not last
Gas approval is routinely the final item on a restaurant project and routinely the reason opening dates slip. The stages are unavoidably serial — design, approval, installation, testing, commissioning — and each depends on the one before. The gas load calculation depends entirely on the kitchen equipment schedule, so operators who finalise equipment late trigger a full redesign. Lock the schedule early and this becomes a non-event.
What you receive
- Gas load calculation from the equipment schedule
- Pipework routing and material specification
- Ventilation and gas detection design
- Emergency shut-off valve positioning
- DCD gas NOC submission
- Pressure testing and commissioning support
