What the telecom operators govern
Etisalat and du both require a no-objection certificate where fit-out works affect telecommunications infrastructure. This is a lighter approval than the statutory ones, but it is frequently required as a supporting document in the main Municipality or free-zone submission, which means a missing telecom NOC can hold up the entire package.
When a telecom NOC is required
- New or modified containment and cable routes
- Works affecting building risers or telecom rooms
- Structured cabling installations in commercial fit-outs
- Any excavation near existing telecom infrastructure
- New service connections to the unit
Typical timeline
NOCs are generally issued within 5 to 12 working days. Because it is a supporting document rather than a headline approval, this one is often left until last and then becomes the item everything else is waiting on.
