DMCC Approval

Dubai Multi Commodities Centre Authority

Fit-out, modification and signage approvals for offices, retail units and residential apartments across the Jumeirah Lakes Towers free zone.

What DMCC governs

Dubai Multi Commodities Centre Authority is the free-zone regulator for Jumeirah Lakes Towers. Any fit-out or modification within a JLT tower requires DMCC approval, and for most projects the DMCC submission runs alongside a CONCORDIA building management approval and a Civil Defence review.

What the review covers

  • Office and retail fit-out layouts
  • MEP modifications and service connections
  • Fire and life-safety compliance
  • Signage and shopfront design
  • Contractor registration and licence verification

Typical timeline

Fit-out approvals are usually issued within 7 to 15 working days. The most common source of delay is an unregistered contractor — DMCC requires the contractor to be approved before the application will progress, and registration is not instant.

Three approvals, not one

A JLT fit-out typically needs DMCC, CONCORDIA and Civil Defence. Treating them as one process, or running them sequentially instead of in parallel, is the usual reason a JLT project takes twice as long as the client expected.
